How long will it take to create a website for my business?

The timeline for your website project depends on the complexity and size of your project. The number of design concepts, how many layouts and pages, the functionality of your site and amount of customization – all play a factor in the timeliness for delivery. Usually we can create a simple website in 6-8 weeks. A 30- to 50-page marketing site can take up to three months; a complex custom website and database or ecommerce platform can take longer. Early in the process, you will receive a timeline for your project based on the scope of the work.

What is my role in creating a new website?

We'll need to meet with you to fully understand your business and determine the most effective solutions for creating a website based on your goals and budget. If you write the content yourself, you will need to allocate resources for that. Our professional writers are also available to help. You'll also be responsible for communicating revisions and approving designs and milestones throughout the process.

My website doesn't show up in online searches. Can you help?

Yes. It's disappointing to invest in a website that doesn't get the traffic you expect. If it's any consolation, you're not alone. If your site wasn't built to be “search engine friendly” or if your business is in a very competitive niche, you'll need help. There are many ways to make your current site more visible to search engines and other areas of the web. We create and revise websites with search engines in mind, using design and programming practices that are compliant with search engine guidelines. Search engine rules and algorithms change over time, so it’s important to periodically reevaluate your site and make sure that it’s up to date and complies with the latest rules. We can take a look and recommend ways to improve your rankings.

Will my website be mobile-friendly?

We only design and develop websites using responsive web design meaning that the screen display adjusts to any device size automatically. Your website will be mobile-friendly and will also work on a large desktop screen.

Do you do small projects such as print design, business cards and letterhead?

Yes. Our designers are all fine arts graduates and love to work on branding, company identity and print work. We're happy to help you with whatever your needs are. We know that after we show you our work and establish your trust in us, you'll turn to us for more projects. That's how we've built our business.

Do you work face-to-face or remotely?

We prefer to sit down face-to-face with our clients to discuss their needs and collaborate during the web design process. It gives us a better feel for their business and personality. But we often work remotely with clients out of the local area. If you're in Connecticut, New York or Massachusetts, we will likely visit with you. If you're outside this area, we will work remotely after the first get-together or even through the entire project. For committed clients, we are able to travel for project kickoffs and other important meetings.

Who will I work be working with throughout the web design process?

You will have a single point of contact for all of your website needs. Based on your goals, we'll assemble the right team of designers, developers, marketing professionals and writers for your project. Sometimes our designers will attend client meetings and presentations. If you have specific programming or technical questions, our lead developer may join the conversation, but for the most part you'll work with a dedicated project manager who will be your advocate throughout the entire project and communicate with the team.

How much will the website cost?

This is arguably the most common question that is asked in the interview process. Our answer to that question is not simple. It's like asking "How much is a house?" We all understand that the cost of a house depends on the size, the location, the materials used, the amount of customization, the complexity of the designs, the level and number of resources you'll need, and other factors. It's the same for the factors that go into pricing a web design project.

Some of the components that play into the cost of your website include:

  1. Marketing & Consulting: The degree in which you need help with marketing, branding and management of the project.
  2. Design:  The level of the designer, the number of concepts, the number of layouts you'll need, your UI and UX needs (the complexity of the user interface), whether you've already established your branding and style, etc.
  3. Technology: The complexity of functional elements included in the website (such as tools, e-commerce, events manager, custom database functions, forms, automation and dynamic features), the number and intricacy of designs and layouts to be implemented, third-party integrations or APIs, the complexity and customization of content management, etc.
  4. SEO: The number of pages to be optimized, the competitiveness of your industry niche, the extent of on-site or off-site SEO services, etc.
  5. Other services needed: Will you need other professional resources such as writers, photographers, video production and community managers?  If you do, those resources will add to the cost.

That being said, in general, a small marketing site, including consulting, custom design/development, and onsite SEO starts at $7,500. Larger custom marketing sites, including many B2B, healthcare, technology, manufacturing or e-commerce sites, generally run $18,000-$30,000. Complex websites and Magento e-commerce websites that require senior-level marketing, design and programming talent typically cost more than $40,000.

How will I make changes to my website?

All of our websites have content management functionality. We favor the WordPress content management system, but we're also highly experienced in Magento for enterprise-level storefronts.

Are there hidden costs for web design services?

No. We discuss everything up front with you and keep you posted every step of the way. We pride ourselves on producing the most professional, effective, results-driven websites – on time and on budget. If you decide to add to the scope of your project, costs are discussed and agreed upon before work begins.

Who owns the website once the design is complete?

It’s all yours once the project is complete and paid for. You own the source code and design files. We're available to help in any way we can.

Why should I choose Synerge-marketing to design my website?

There are thousands of web designers who promise to create a website for you, fast and cheap. There are high-end agencies where the price will blind you. There are "free" web builders that will have you tearing your hair out. Our prices are fair for the caliber of talent that surrounds your project. You'll work with a single point of contact who is accessible, responsive and experienced. You'll get a strategy for success. You'll have high-level designers designing your site. You'll have professional marketers working on attracting customers while technology experts will build the functionality. Developing an effective, professional, results-driven website that gets repeat visitors while enticing new customers requires many different skillsets. We cover all the bases and are passionate about doing great work that is the source of both personal pride and financial reward.
